I know it sounds so high school, but unfortunately, this behavior can make its way into the workplace. I’ve had this experience at work, once. Once was enough. What I learned from the experience was priceless and I want to share with you what you do when a colleague steals your ideas. For those of you fortunate enough to avoid this ordeal so far, perfect! You’ll learn how to make sure it never happens to begin with.
Be professionally mature and seek to understand exactly what happened.
Get your colleague’s commitment to fix the error.
Make sure it never happens again by deciding (with your colleague) how credit will be shared.
